WordPress Coaching
Launch or Level Up Your Website
Ready to build a strong online presence but not sure where to start? Or do you have an existing website that needs a boost? I help small business owners and entrepreneurs get their first website up and running on WordPress, or optimize and improve their current site.
Whether you plan to build it yourself, use AI tools, or want to confidently work with a designer or developer, I’ll coach you through the essential steps.
Your Vision, Your Website
Building a website can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re not a designer or developer. That’s where my coaching comes in. I’ll guide you through the process, helping you make smart decisions so your website is a powerful asset for your business.
In our sessions, we’ll cover:
- Ideation & Planning: From generating and gathering content to planning your website’s information architecture, we’ll lay the groundwork for a site that works. We’ll also cover creating custom data structures for things like restaurant menus and recipes, book reviews, or team members.
- Design: Learn about Graphical User Experience (UX) Design—whether you want to create a custom theme, use a pre-built template, or design with AI. We’ll explore page builders and block-based publishing to make design simple and accessible. We’ll also focus on how to design and build landing pages that convert, including pricing pages.
- Content & Media Production: Master content management and publishing with WordPress. We’ll also cover creating and managing media, including audio and video editing for podcasting and video podcasting. I’ll show you how to leverage AI for production, including voiceovers, and how to optimize images and photography for fast-loading web pages. You’ll also learn how to live stream with services like YouTube (video) or Radio Station PRO (audio) and embed or gate access to your live streams.
- WordPress Essentials: I’ll teach you the fundamentals: what WordPress is, how to use it, and how to keep it updated and maintained. We’ll also cover essential WordPress plugins that enhance functionality and security. We’ll also dive into page speed optimization analysis with Google Page Speed Insights and GT Metrix, and explore various theme options or plugins to improve your site’s performance.
- Working with Developers: If you choose to hire outside help, I’ll coach you on how to effectively navigate the challenges of working with offshore developers. We’ll focus on communication strategies and project management to ensure your time is used efficiently, helping you avoid increased costs due to miscommunication and cultural barriers.
- Hosting & Security: Understand the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. We’ll cover everything from choosing a hosting platform to basic security, and how to harden your WordPress site with tools like reCAPTCHA, Sucuri Security, and Wordfence to prevent comment and registration spam. Learn to log in with Two-Factor Authentication and use Cloudflare for your site’s DNS to provide an additional layer of security and optimization.
- E-commerce: Get started with an online store. We’ll explore using WooCommerce and setting up payments with WooPayments or Stripe to sell products and services.
- Monetization: We’ll dive into building revenue streams. I’ll show you how to set up memberships and subscriptions for gated content. You’ll also learn how to work with advertising management plugins and Google Ads to place ads on your WordPress website, and how to track and report performance to advertisers.
- Marketing: Drive traffic to your website with a mix of SEO, social media, and digital advertising. I’ll show you how to implement email capture for newsletters, promotions, and contests with tools like Mailchimp, as well as how to use CRM lead capture into HubSpot.
- Social Media: Learn how to enhance your website by embedding and customizing content from popular social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn. We’ll also cover cross-publishing blog posts to your social media channels.
- Analytics and SEO Performance:
- Analytics: Learn to use Google Site Kit to connect your site to Google Analytics and understand your audience.
- SEO: We’ll cover basic SEO theory and application, including how to manage your entire site’s SEO with a tool like All In One SEO. We’ll use Ubersuggest to find and track valuable keywords and analyze their performance. Learn to connect your XML sitemap to Google Search Console to help Google find and crawl your site’s pages, then analyze key reports to improve your rankings.
- Customer Service: Learn how to provide excellent customer support directly from your site using Help Desk and Chat Bot solutions.
